Description
"For the Olympics, other ones [dorms] were built. But it also meant that the students who were in dorms had to find a place to live. We had to find a place for them to live for the three weeks.
Their dorm space was given to the press corps, foreign visiting coaches, and some teams. And some of the students were international students who just couldn’t go home. Some dorm students lived in Boise, or some place they could commute back to.
But international students had no place to go. So I remember faculty and staff taking them in and putting out a call to the community for spare bedrooms to help take care of those students." Quote from June Phillips' Oral History
