To prepare for hosting the downhill alpine skiing events, Snowbasin underwent significant upgrades that transformed the resort. A land transfer of 1,377 acres from the National Forest System allowed Snowbasin to nearly double its size, setting the stage for major improvements. The resort constructed two new runs, Grizzly and Wildflower, specifically for the Olympic Games, and expanded its base operations to accommodate the influx of visitors. Additionally, new lifts, including the iconic John Paul lift, were installed to enhance accessibility and efficiency. During the Games, Snowbasin welcomed nearly 125,000 spectators.
