Weber County played a significant role in the 2002 Winter Games, hosting two key events. The Ogden Ice Sheet was selected as the venue for curling, welcoming athletes and spectators from around the globe to experience this sport. Meanwhile, Snowbasin Ski Resort showcased its world-class terrain by hosting the alpine skiing events, including the downhill, combined, and Super-G competitions. These venues not only highlighted Weber County’s diverse capabilities but also brought international attention to the region’s vibrant winter sports scene.
