Sharon Martin receiving the commission of Second Lieutenant, 1983 In 1983, Sharon Martin received the commission of Second Lieutenant in Weber’s ROTC program, reportedly becoming the first Black cadet to receive a commission at Weber. Before attending Weber, Sharon served two years in the US Army.
