During the Weber State College era, students would travel around to different businesses in town to gain support for the Acorn Yearbook. Students would pose with different business owners or just take pictures of the supporting businesses to add to their advertisement pages. These images are from the early years of the yearbook 1948 – 1967. Many of the businesses are no longer in existence.

RUSTY'S on Riverdale Road and Wall was a big hit before and after a game serving malts, sandwiches, beer, fountain drinks and ice cream, 1947

Weber Office Supply was located on 2432 Washington Boulevard with an ad of "we specialize in student supplies for the future engineer, artist, salesman, doctor, secretary, lawyer, accountant, businessman, nurse and teacher." 10751

Elite Dry Cleaners located on 2898 Washington Boulevard with either walk-in or drive-through options, 1959

Richard's Sheet Metal Company "for prompt and courteous help with all your sheet metal problems.", 1948

Located on 2522 Washington Boulevard, Doko's Candy Company was first choice for a sugar tooth craving, 1948

Located inside the Ben Lomond Hotel, the Esquire Lounge was the place to stop for a bite to eat, 1948

The Watson-Tanner Clothing Company on 24th Street was one of six major clothing stores providing fashions for men, 1948

In 1948 you could get a Deluxe sundae for .15 and Jumbo Sundae for .25. Dairy Queen is still one of the best places in town for ice cream.

Located on Grant Street, this iconic restaurant was the place to go for a hot date. The parlor opened its doors in the 40's and closed them for the last time in 2012, photo from 1948
