1940s: Wartime Romance

During World War II, Brides Wether out of necessity or even patriotism wore practical suits or short day dresses. The wedding creemonies were often held on short notice depending on when the groom could be on furlough or leave. Because silk and other materials were in short supply, some women even made their gowns out of nylon parachute material.
