Developed in 2020, this exhibit is a celebration of women for the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment ratified to the U.S. Constitution, giving women the right to vote, which led to their having a greater voice in politics and a more influential role in the community. In celebration of the women who have had an influence on the development of Weber State University, the University Archives features “Women of Weber.” This exhibit focuses exclusively on women whose service, accomplishments, philanthropy and careers have impacted students and enhanced the Weber State educational experience.

The exhibit spotlights different women each month, sharing their stories and photographs in a growing display that will develop into an accumulation of a yearlong exhibit. Included will not only be the amazing women spotlighted each month, but also a complete wall of Weber women who have had an impact on the growth of the institution.

This project is an accumulation of personal stories through oral history interviews and significant research into each of their individual histories with Weber State. The project also teamed up with Weber’s Marketing and Communications department to send out noteworthy press releases at the beginning of each candidate’s monthly spotlight.

The project will be completed in April 2021. Come back each month to learn about the new featured woman.
