The Stewart Library Special Collections was founded in 1971 to house a donation of rare and unique books. In the last 50 years our collections have grown to over 40,000 volumes of books, 500 manuscript collections and over 300 photograph collections. Our mission has expanded to document the history of Weber and Davis counties, and we also collect oral histories.
We decided to celebrate this special anniversary by exploring 50 stories from our shared history. Some of these stories are well-known, some are not. They are the stories of how our community has evolved and reshaped itself; its shortcomings and achievements.
We invite you to view these stories and think about your own past. What do you remember about the history of this community? What stories are new to you?
