Looking Toward the Future

For the past fifty years, Special Collections has sought to document the histories of Weber and Davis Counties through letters, diaries, photographs, scrapbooks and other materials. This exhibit has highlighted just how important it is to preserve the history of the area and keep the records for future generations. There was no way to tell every single story of the area, but we worked to give people a glimpse into the wonderful history housed in the department.

Was there a story that you didn’t know about? What was one that brought back memories? Was there a story you wish was included?

We will continue to collect for the next fifty years and beyond to keep gathering information about the people and places that inhabited Weber and Davis Counties. We are always looking for additions to our collections. We don’t just want the “VIPs” of the area but the stories of everyday people in all the communities. Oftentimes it is the daily entries in diaries talking about laundry and making bread that tell us the interesting stories. Please help us continue our mission by sharing your history with us.
